RECRUITMENT

Free summer meals are served to children in low-income areas during the summer at sites such as neighborhood parks, libraries, schools, places of worship, mobile buses, and recreation centers.
- www.WhyHunger.org/findfood or call the National Hunger Hotline (1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-Hambre) — Find out where free summer meals are being served near you or someone you know. On the website, click on "Get Info" tab, which takes you to Federal Food Programs and click on Summer Food Service Program. The information on distribution sites is updated closer to the end of the school year, so check back to get the most current information.
- "Summer Food Rocks" — This USDA website has an interactive map. Just enter your City or Zip Code and see what sites are serving meals near you.
EXPLORING EDUCATION AND CAREER OPTIONS
Websites that aid an adult wanting to know which jobs will be more in demand in the future, which employers hire in certain industries, which Washington community or technical college best meets his/her goals, or other eligible training providers and unemployment programs in Washington.
- The Self Sufficiency Calculator (www.thecalculator.org) — The Self Sufficiency Standard measures how much income is needed for a family of a given composition -- ranging from a one-person household to a large family -- in a given place, to adequately meet its basic needs without any public or private assistance.
