Welcome to Learning to Administer the ESI-R (Early Screening Inventory-Revised)

Offered by Head Start and Early Literacy Outreach (ELOP)

The Early Screening Inventory-Revised (ESI-R) is a brief developmental screening instrument that is individually administered to children from 3 to 6 years of age. It is designed to identify children who may need special educational services in order to perform successfully in school.

Participants will learn the importance of a developmental screening and guide you through the process of gaining information about the ESI-R tool, functions and requirements. You will complete a “pre-test”, read 4 articles and the ESI-R manual, review the Q & A page and complete a “post-test”. Please complete these requirements prior to administering the screening tool to children. A certificate will be available to you upon successful completion of the post-test.
