Module I: Creating Community Among Adults in Early Care Settings

Overview

Welcome to the first module of the “Child, Family and Community Relationships” course. This module is Part One of three modules developed by Building Bridges with Higher Education Project and STARS, and offer through Puget Sound Educational Services District's Early Learning Outreach Program (ELOP), local community and technical colleges, and community partners.

This module consists of four sections or classes:

  • Why Relationships Matter
  • Individual Attitudes and Behaviors
  • When Caring Relationships are Undermined
  • Creating A Caring Community Around Children

For each of these sections, you will create an online portfolio of all of your work. Your coursework and assignments will all be completed online. You will update your portfolio as you complete your assignments. A certificate of completion will be available online upon your successful completion, and credit will be awarded through the college you registered with. You may email your instructor with questions, or post them on the discussion board if you are looking for feedback from fellow students.
