Identify the time and place you plan to work on your class. While taking a class online offers you the flexibility and choice of time and place, setting a schedule and location of where and when you plan to complete the work is a critical step to success.

Create a class folder for class information . Keeping all of the details about your class in one folder is very important. Start by making sure you have your instructors email and phone number and your course syllabus/outline. Keeping a record of the user name, password and email address you used when registering is also important. (Note: if you change your email address during the class or use a different one from registration, let your instructor know immediately. This will effect all communication with your instructor and the online platform)Other items you may want to keep in your class file are copies of instructor emails, articles you print for reading and when you are done a copy of your certificate.

Contact your instructor. You are encouraged to contact you instructor anytime you have a question, concern or are uncertain about the class. This is especially important is you encounter a challenge that effects your ability to complete work for the class. If you are having a challenge with your computer or the course, your instructor will help problem solve with you and if necessary work with the online tech support to resolve the issue.
